Copper Sinks Versus Porcelain Sinks
by Saul Sanchez
While porcelain sinks were once the most common type of sink used in both bathrooms and kitchens many homeowners are now looking to copper sinks over porcelain. While porcelain is both fairly durable and attractive, copper appears to have many benefits porcelain simply can't match.
One of the first reasons copper sinks are becoming so popular is because of the fact they are so easy to keep up with. A sink made of copper does not seem to get the same amount of buildup and soap scum that other types of sinks for the kitchen and bathroom do. For a good cleaning all one really has to do is use some gentle soap, warm water and a soft rag and the sink is clean. One does not have to worry about using harsh chemicals either. Most cleaners used on bathroom and kitchen sinks can burn or irritate the user. By investing in a sink made of copper, one does not have to use these any more.
Another reason coppers sinks are becoming so popular is because they are very strong. Copper is one of the most durable materials sinks can be made out of. No matter if the household is little or large these sinks are made to last and unlike other sinks actually start to look better over long periods of time rather than start to look chipped or worn out.
Some people opt to put a copper sink in their home because it matches their decor. They may be looking to decorate their kitchen or bathroom in a rustic look and the copper matches it well. As mentioned above copper sinks actually look better with time. The colors will change to an old fashioned look that is very appealing. For those who want to keep the same look they can opt to put some brass cleaner on their sink and it will retain its' natural color.
All in all, for homeowners who want a kitchen or bathroom sink that has both quality and that looks nice they are turning to copper sinks.
